We are living in the world of humans and machines. As  Human have been evolving and learning from their past experience . On the other hand, the era of machines and robots have just begun. You can consider it in a way that currently we are living in the primitive age of machines, while the future of machine is enormous and is beyond our scope of imagination.

The process of learning begins with observations or data, such as examples, direct experience, or instruction, in order to look for patterns in data and make better decisions in the future based on the examples that we provide.The primary aim is to allow the computers learn automatically without human intervention or assistance and adjust actions accordingly.

There are numerous example of machine learning in today’s era like Image recognition, Speech recognition,Text analysis, Traffic Prediction, Virtual Personal Assistant, Video Surveillance, Online Customer Support, Product Recommendation system ,Healthcare System  etc. 

  • Image recognition

Image recognition refers to technologies that identify places, logos, people, objects, buildings, and several other variables in images. Users are sharing vast amounts of data through apps, social networks, and websites. Additionally, mobile phones equipped with cameras are leading to the creation of limitless digital images and videos. Image recognition is a part of computer vision and a process to identify and detect an object or attribute in a digital video or image. Computer vision is a broader term which includes methods of gathering, processing and analyzing data from the real world. Apart from image recognition, computer vision also includes event detection, object recognition, learning, image reconstruction and video tracking.
There are several uses of image recognition in business like e-commerce , Gaming industry ,Automotive industry,security industry,social media platform, visual search engine etc.

  • Speech recognition

Speech recognition is the ability of a machine to identify words and phrases in spoken language and convert them to a machine-readable format. Rudimentary speech recognition software has a limited vocabulary of words and phrases, and it may only identify these if they are spoken very clearly. Sophisticated software has the ability to accept natural speech.

There are various uses of speech recognition like speech to text processing , voice dialling and google voice search , apple  siri etc. 

  • Text Analysis

Text analysis  is the automated process that allows machines to extract and classify information from text, such as tweets(sentiment analysis), emails, support tickets, product reviews, survey responses, etc.

Businesses might want to extract specific information, like keywords, names, or company information. They may even want to categorize text with tags according to topic or viewpoint, or classify it as positive or negative.

Either way, humans will do  that sorting through data is a repetitive, time-consuming and expensive process  . High volumes of text can automatically be analyzed, saving time and money, providing more insights from business data and automating processes.

  • Virtual Personal Assitant

A virtual assistant is an application program that understands natural language, voice commands and completes tasks for the user. Such tasks, historically performed by a personal assistant or secretary, include taking dictation, reading text  ,looking up contact numbers, scheduling, placing phone calls and reminding the end user about appointments. There is various VPA that are popular virtual assistants currently include Amazon Alexa, Apple’s Siri,Google Now and Microsoft’s Cortana.And as voice recognition technology improves, virtual assistant use will move deeper into business workflows.

  •  Video Surveillance

Surveillance is used for security purposes and now it move one step forward and detect person with their identity either by name or as unknown. Future of video surveillance is in academic field where automated proctoring system will establish the authenticity of user and prevent them from cheating via automted proctoring. For Government it can be used in detecting criminal and discourage the crime. 

  •  Customer Support System 

Customer service is the process of ensuring customer satisfaction with a product or service. Machine Learning is  footstepping in automating and improving parts of the Customer Service , like routing tickets to the right agent or improving your knowledge base.

You may have seen Chatbot in many website that help your operations by answering customer queries automatically. from a technological point of view, a chatbot only represents the natural evolution of a Question Answering system leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP).

  •  Traffic Prediction

Traffic congestion is major problem in various cities. Due to increase in urbanisation number of vehicles on roads in recent years , there is need for an efficient traffic control systems to avoid congestion . traffic estimation prediction that is used to predict navigation travel time. 

  • Healthcare 

 Healthcare and Medicine is a revolutionary and promising industry for implementing the data science solutions. ML in healthcare helps to analyze thousands of different data points and suggest outcomes, provide timely risk scores, precise resource allocation, and has many other applications.Data analytics is moving the medical science to a whole new level, from computerizing medical records to drug discovery and genetic disease exploration.
